David Oakes, MD has practiced cardiac electrophysiology for 32 years. In addition to Cheyenne, he has also practiced in Boise, Idaho and Lubbock and New Braunfels, Texas.

Dr. Oakes was inspired to become a physician by his father who was also a physician and who he calls "a great role model." He chose cardiac electrophysiology because of the complexity of the field and the opportunity to provide hope and care for patients at risk of abnormal heart rhythms.

Dr. Oakes prefers to refer to his practice as a "calling", rather than a job. His goal is to dispel fear, provide hope and gain the trust of his patients through compassion and good communication.

He and his wife - a cardiology nurse practitioner who will also be joining CRMC - love the Mountain West and he is grateful for this opportunity to make a positive impact on the Wyoming medical community.
